The Subjective Clock deals with how the distance between events and the observer affects our sense of time. If we only see a family member every five years, their time passes quite differently in our heads than the time of someone we speak to every day.

Stand closer to the clock and it runs faster; step further away and it slows down. A projected image of a walking figure illustrates the same change in the pace of time.

How It Was Made
To build the clock I gutted an old one and mounted the hand on a servo motor instead of the original movement. For control I used a microcontroller
with a distance sensor attached to it. Power comes from a power bank. 
Linked up with TouchDesigner, the clock also controls the speed of a person walking in a video, making the change even clearer.
